Our Approach

Just Fed! is built to keep baby tracking simple and private. Core tracking is local-first, and we only use networked services where they are needed to provide features like family sharing, authentication, subscriptions, and limited product analytics.

In short: we do not run ads, we do not sell your data, and we do not use Just Fed! to build an advertising or data-broker profile about you.

What We Do Not Do

We do not show ads inside Just Fed!

We do not sell your data to advertisers or data brokers

We do not use your baby tracking history for advertising or cross-app profiling

We do not treat every feature as cloud-only. Core tracking is designed to remain local-first.

We do not intentionally send your name, email address, or the full contents of your baby's timeline to Firebase Analytics.

What Stays on Your Device

Everyday tracking data is centered on your iPhone. Just Fed! is designed so the core experience remains fast, direct, and usable without turning every interaction into a cloud request.

  • Your logged feeds, sleep, nappies, timers, and app state are stored locally for the core app experience.
  • If you never use family sharing, your day-to-day tracking can stay a single-device experience.
  • Deleting the app removes locally stored app data from your device.

When Data Is Sent to Our Services

Some features require network services to work correctly. When you use those features, the app sends the information needed to provide them.

Family sharing

Shared timelines depend on backend sync so both phones can stay aligned. If you create or join a family, relevant event history and updates are transmitted to our backend to support syncing between family members.

Authentication

Just Fed! uses Firebase anonymous authentication so the app can create a pseudonymous account identifier for protected backend features like family sharing and subscription checks.

Subscriptions

Premium purchases and activation use RevenueCat together with our backend subscription status checks so premium features can unlock correctly.

Sync notifications

Device tokens and push infrastructure may be used to notify linked devices that new shared timeline data is available.

Product Analytics

We use Firebase Analytics to understand how Just Fed! is used, where people get stuck, and whether product changes are improving the app. This helps us measure things like onboarding flow, feature usage, and premium conversion without running ads or selling data.

  • Analytics may include pseudonymous identifiers such as a Firebase anonymous-auth UID and a Google Analytics app-instance identifier.
  • We log product events such as onboarding steps, insights views, paywall views, purchase and restore results, feature taps, and broad usage milestones.
  • We may set broad user properties such as free or premium status, solo or shared use, and high-level usage buckets so we can understand patterns in the product.
  • Google Analytics for Firebase may also automatically collect certain device, app, and usage information as part of its standard analytics processing.

We do not use Firebase Analytics to intentionally send your real name, email address, baby notes, or the full contents of your baby's event history. We use it for product measurement and improvement, not for advertising.

Third-Party Services Used to Run the App

Just Fed! does use third-party infrastructure where it is necessary to operate specific features. These services are used to run the product, not to monetize your behavior.

  • Firebase Authentication for anonymous account access and related backend protection.
  • Firebase Analytics for pseudonymous product usage measurement and app improvement.
  • RevenueCat for subscription and premium entitlement handling.
  • Our own backend service for family sync, invite codes, subscription status checks, and push coordination.

Security and Access

We try to keep access to synced features limited to authenticated app users and to only store what is needed to provide those features.

No system can promise absolute security, but the app and backend are designed to protect family sync and subscription access rather than expose your data for broad commercial use.

Your Choices

  • You can use Just Fed! without enabling family sharing.
  • You can choose not to buy premium or not to use family sharing features if you prefer a simpler single-device experience.
  • You can cancel premium through Apple subscription settings.
  • Just Fed! does not currently include an in-app switch to disable Firebase Analytics. Deleting the app stops future collection from that installation, subject to third-party provider retention rules.
  • Deleting the app removes local data from your device. If you have used synced family features, backend data related to those features may also exist as part of the shared timeline service.

Children's Privacy

Just Fed! is built for parents and caregivers to track baby activity. We do not knowingly build child profiles for advertising or analytics purposes. The information entered into the app is controlled by the adult using it.

The Bottom Line

Just Fed! is privacy-first, not privacy-fiction. Core tracking is local-first, sync, subscriptions, and limited pseudonymous analytics use the services needed to work, and we do not use your data as an advertising product.
